What to expect on Devil’s Bridge.
Devil’s Bridge is easier than its famous photos make it look. Most of the route is a flat-to-moderate approach; the surprise is the final 0.1 mile of natural rock steps that require hands for balance. The recommended loop is Mescal Trail in and Dry Creek Road out, saving the dull wide-road section for the walk back. The real time sink is the photo line at the arch — 20 to 40 minutes midday — so arrive before 8 AM. If heights aren’t your thing, the lower viewpoint delivers the classic arch shot with no crossing required.
