Should you hike Marg’s Draw Spur A to Snoopy Rock? What the film settles
An easy trail with a hard spur at the end.
Marg’s Draw is the easy part. The film starts flat, crosses stone steps and prickly pear at 3:00, and has Snoopy Rock in view across the flats at 5:40. From 11:00 it is easy walking along the draw below the spires.
The spur changes the hike. At 13:40 Spur A leaves the main trail toward the rock. The climb begins on cactus and boulders at 16:20, with big blocks to step up at 19:00 and steep broken rock from 21:40, the stretch that earns the strenuous rating.
Hands at the top. At 27:00 the route goes through boulders with hands on the rock, then the last steep ground below the formation from 29:40. The film reaches the base of Snoopy Rock at 32:00, with the view back over Sedona. If anyone in your group is not up for that, Marg’s Draw itself is a pleasant walk with the rock in view.
Plan the parking. Check Sedona trailhead parking before you go.
Stay on Marg’s Draw if steep, loose rock or hands-on moves are not for your group; the spur is where all the effort is.
